Jane Hyde Kordish, LMT Receives the 2015 Performance Health FSMTA Humanitarian Award

Award presented at the Florida State Massage Therapy Association’s Annual Convention

Akron, Ohio – July 7, 2015 – Jane Hyde Kordish, LMT was presented the Performance Health FSMTA Humanitarian Award at this year’s Florida State Massage Therapy Association’s Annual Convention. Performance Health, manufacturer and marketer of Bon Vital'®, Biofreeze®, Prossage®, TheraBandTM, Cramer® and Thera°Pearl® health and wellness products, honors individuals annually in the massage therapy industry for their efforts in improving the welfare of their clients and demonstrating selfless devotion to others. This is the thirteenth year Performance Health and the FSMTA have presented this award.

“A key to being a true humanitarian is to know that the soul is healed by serving others in need. Jane Kordish knows that even greater healing comes from serving our country’s ultimate servers; those in our military,” stated Marshall Dahneke, CEO, Performance Health. “We as a country embrace members of our military service...those willing to sacrifice everything for the freedoms we enjoy. Yet at first blush, not all may equate being a humanitarian with service in the Armed Forces...or serving those who serve us. I am so pleased that the FSMTA executive committee chose to recognize both—a veteran dedicated to serving those in active-duty.

“Ms. Kordish has distinguished herself by volunteering in ways to lighten the load for those currently protecting our freedoms. She demonstrates her commitment by volunteering her own services and coordinating other volunteers to provide chair massages for those serving at MacDill Air Force Base near Tampa. In addition, Ms. Kordish trains LMTs to provide services for the Wounded Warrior Athletic Reconditioning Program,” concluded Mr. Dahneke. “It is truly an honor to present her with the 2015 Performance Health FSMTA Humanitarian Award.”

“Jane is a great role model for her peers as she truly demonstrates compassion, service and professionalism through her work with those serving in the military. Jane has donated countless hours providing massage therapy services to those serving our country, as well as providing outstanding professional massage therapy services through her business in the Tampa, Florida area,” added Leiah J. Carr, President, Florida State Massage Therapy Association. “Through her massage therapy skills, leadership and desire to serve others, Jane is making a profound difference in the lives of those in her community and across the state of Florida. FSMTA is honored to have her recognized as this year’s Humanitarian award recipient.”

Upon receiving the award, Ms. Kordish said, "I am truly honored to accept this award and I want to thank the FSMTA and Performance Health for highlighting the important work we are doing to bring the healing power of educated touch to our military community. I must take this opportunity to challenge others to get involved in community service and to thank my colleagues for tirelessly supporting our efforts in Florida and beyond. Every time I ask for their help, I am always told YES! In volunteering our time to give back to those who serve, we get back so much more than we give. We as massage therapists share many traits in common with our military service members, veterans, retirees, and their families such as commitment, dedication and a code of ethics. Let’s strengthen the ties between us at every opportunity. I appreciate more than I can say the donation of $1000 in my name to be shared between two great charities, SOF Bionic Warriors and CAUSE Comfort for America’s Uniformed Services. The donation will directly benefit our recovering wounded, ill, and injured service members, as well as their families and caregivers.”

In addition to honoring Ms. Kordish at the FSMTA convention, Performance Health will donate $500 to SOF Bionic Warriors and $500 to CAUSE.
